TOWIE star Amy Childs started to wipe her tears away the moment she met Jorja Emerson – a brave young girl who suffers from severe epilepsy – and her father Robin.
Robin is campaigning for better access to medical cannabis and Amy, 31, broke down into tears when she held little Jorja, five, in her arms after travelling all the way to Belfast to meet the inspirational family.
Jorja was born with the condition, which sees her have more than 30 seizures a day, and just days after being welcomed into the world, she was rushed into intensive care twice and spent six months in hospital.
While medical cannabis is legal, it can still be difficult to obtain in the UK and current guidance stops GPs from giving prescriptions of medical CBD, which helps the seizures Jorja experiences.
Robin set up Jorja's Foundation after he was told she wouldn't live for much longer when she turned one.
Being a mother to Polly, three, and two year old Ritchie, the Essex star tells OK! she understands the strength and determination Robin must have when it comes to fighting for his daughter's life.
"Meeting Jorja in her home town of Belfast was one of the most special days of my life, holding her in my arms I knew she was such a special little girl," she told us.
"I want to support her and spread the word about her incredible story along with many other vulnerable children who rely on medical cannabis treatment."
Amy shared a snap of herself holding Jorja and an emotional video in which she meets both Robin and his daughter.
In the clip, fans can hear Robin saying: "You think back when people say Jorja shouldn't be here," to which an emotional Amy replies as she's holding her: "I know, and look at her now. Look at her."
Towards the end of the video, Amy says she will do anything she can to help the family before Jorja makes a noise.
Amy then adds: "I will! I promise you."
She captioned the post: "After meeting Jorja's dad @robin.emerson.mre I travelled to Belfast to meet the beautiful Jorja who has gone from fighting for her life every single day, to being almost free of seizures since being treated with medical cannabis…
"What an inspiration Jorja and her family are, it's so moving to see her doing amazing… I'm already talking to Robin about how I can do more to support the Jorja Foundation."
Amy continued: "We need to spread the word and stop this happening to other vulnerable children.
"Please go to @jorjafoundation and follow, that's how easy it is to help… swipe to the next video when I met the beautiful Jorja. Look how perfect Jorja is."
Many of the star's celebrity pals shared their support, including Mrs Hinch and Chloe Sims, who posted love heart emojis underneath.
Robin quickly thanked Amy for all of her kindness with the words: "I will never be able to thank you enough for all your support.
"Jorja absolutely loves you and can't wait for Auntie Amy to visit her again xx."
