All things considered, 2020 shaped up to be quite a successful year for Beyoncé. Not only did it include the release of her highly-praised visual album Black Is King, but also saw her BeyGOOD Foundation helping those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. She managed to accomplish all of the above and more while being a full-time mom and mentor to her three kids: Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir.
To put it simply, Beyoncé crushed 2020.
Reflecting on her many achievements, the singer shared a short celebratory video on Instagram, titled "Cheers to 2020." Highlights included a montage of Bey dancing to Meg Thee Stallion's "Savage Remix," her uplifting commencement address to 2020 graduates, and the acceptance of her humanitarian honor at this year's BET Awards. However, the best part of the four-minute video had to be the seriously sweet (and rare) footage Beyoncé added of the Carter kids.
In one scene, Bey is spotted riding around in a golf cart with her twins, Rumi and Sir, while music plays in the background. Rumi, wearing a pink bow and a baby blue sweatsuit with rainbow cuffs, adorably dances to the tune, before her mom asks, "How do you feel about your summer this year? Did you have a good summer? Yeah? What'd you do?" Not in the mood to answer questions, Rumi sweetly shakes her head "no."
There were also photos of the twins modeling mom's Ivy Park collection.
Meanwhile, big sister Blue Ivy received multiple mentions in the video compilation, including her narration of Matthew Cherry's book Hair Love and recording of "Brown Skin Girl," which received a Grammy nomination.
"Cheers to a New Year Beyhive!! 🎆🎊," the singer captioned the year-in-review clip. "2020 divided us and united us. Most could not see loved ones and we felt too many loses, but we were united by our humanity."
She continued, "This year for me has been about celebrating joy, chasing happiness, and living in love. As we all look forward and pray for new beginnings, my wish for you is that you honor yourself and those you love. Celebrate that you are an important individual who contributes to our beautiful collective."
"Here’s to a better and brighter 2021! Love, B."
