Cheryl has opted out of celebrating the 18th anniversary of her former girl band Girls Aloud.

Despite three of her former band mates Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle paying tribute to the milestone birthday, Cheryl failed to join in.

The 37 year old Greatest Dancer judge, who shares her three year old son, Bear, with Liam Payne, also neglected to comment on the social media posts that Nicola and Kimberely shared to celebrate Girls Aloud turning 18.

Nicola penned to her Instagram, “Happy 18th Birthday Girls. Lots of love to us” alongside snaps of the girls performing on stage with their fifth band member, Sarah Harding.

Fans were quick to send their birthday wishes to the girl group, who were created on ITV’s hit talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

“So proud of how far you have all come over the years,” one fan gushed. “Thank you for all the amazing memories you have given us fans.”

“The best 18 years!“ Another wrote as another said: “Happy birthday girls. Iconic Queens!”

Another begged for the pop stars to make a comeback saying, “Reunion please!”

Mum of one, Kimberley, also paid tribute by sharing a sweet throwback snap of the girl group laughing with the words: “Happy 18th birthday girls.”

Sending her best wishes on the 39-year-old’s post was the likes of singer, Alexandra Burke, who wrote: “Awww happy 18th birthday ladies!”

Also, Kimberley’s sister, Amy, who’s best known for playing Tracy Metcalfe on Emmerdale, left kind words on the celebratory post.

“Wow wow wow!!! 18 years since all our lives changed forever!!!” she gushed. “So proud of you sister!!! What a journey it’s been.”

Re-sharing a tribute from All on the Board was 35-year-old Nadine, who’s rumoured to have rekindled her romance with Strictly star Jason Bell – whom she shares six year old Anaiya with.

“On The 30th November, 2020, magic happened on Popstars: The Rivals when Cheryl, Kimberely, Nadine, Nicola and Sarah were put together,” penned All on the Board writers. “They will always be one of the greatest girl bands ever.”

Sarah has remained quiet on their big day, following her battle with breast cancer.

The 39 year old hasn’t been active on her Instagram grid since revealing her heartbreaking diagnosis in August this year.
