“We didn’t know it was going to be like that but I turned up for the first screen test and we just got on. And three screen tests later we did the show.”

She continued: “We still have it now. I know when he breathes, I know what he’s thinking. The joy for me is seeing Chris happy.”

When quizzed on whether or not fans will ever get to see a revival of the classic 90s show, Gaby spilled it would be “a bit old” nowadays.

The presenter divulged: “I was on Chris’ last show on BBC Radio 2 before he went to Virgin and we were talking about that. We were saying we can’t believe people still ask us [about The Big Breakfast].

“It was over 26 years ago that we started it. It’s lovely that people seem to hold us with fondness in their hearts and Chris and I still love each other very, very much. I have so much love and respect for him.”

She said: “We are not going to go back and do that because that would be a bit old. The house is not even there. Somebody lives in it, I think. I’ve heard that.

“But I think television needs to take more risks these days. I would love to do another risky show again. Who knows?”

Gaby quit The Big Breakfast show in 1996 with Chris having departed two years prior.

The BBC Radio 4 DJ has gone onto have a career which has spanned over 30 years and seen her front her own televised show titled The Gaby Roslin Show as well as various other shows including Children In Need, The National Lottery Draws and The Saturday Show on Channel 5.

Meanwhile, the BBC favourite spilled on whether she would ever take part in Strictly Come Dancing.

The DJ admitted she would be too “self conscious” to take part in the series despite the fact she is an avid watcher.

The presenter commented: “I love it [Strictly] but absolutely never, never, never, ever. They know I won’t. I’m too self-conscious. I love watching it but there is no way.

“But I would actually poo my pants before I went on air and I don’t think that would be a good look for anybody on my television.”

The mother-of-two revealed she has been upfront in the past about being self-conscious and said she is a very “shy” person.

Gaby divulged: “There’s no way I’d wear skintight body lycra and dance.

“Anyone that knows me knows I’m self conscious. I’ve spoken about it openly. I’m shy. I’m a very shy person. So, no absolutely no way. On every single level it makes me my most shyest.”
