Frozen in time: How do they stay looking so young?

Frozen in time: They haven’t aged a day in a decade, yet these stars swear they don’t use Botox. So how on earth do they stay looking so young?

She may be 51, but with her smooth skin, wrinkle-free forehead and impressively unlined eyes, Jennifer Lopez doesn’t look a day over 40.

In fact, she looks no different than she did a decade ago.

Yet when one fan recently took to social media to claim that her youthful glow must be the result of wrinkle-zapping Botox injections, the singer was quick to shoot them down.

‘For the 500 millionth time . . . I have never done Botox or any injectable or surgery!!’ she wrote in reply. ‘Just sayin’.’

Miss Lopez is not the only celebrity whose face seems to be frozen in time. Here, ALISON BOSHOFF looks at the stars who still look the same as they did a decade ago — leaving us all wondering how do they do it?

When a fan commented on Instagram last week that singer Jennifer Lopez, 51, had ‘definitely’ had Botox, J Lo categorically denied it. She then added a plug for her own skincare range: ‘Get you some JLO BEAUTY and feel beautiful in your own skin!!’

Actress Nicole Kidman, 53, is pictured left in 2007 and right in January 2020. She is an alabaster beauty who has long taken care to stay out of the sun. But does she really look this good without any assistance? She says so. In 2013, she told an interviewer: ‘I did try Botox, unfortunately, but I got out of it and now I can finally move my face again.’ She added: ‘No surgery for me . . . I wear sunscreen.’

Friends star Jennifer Aniston, 51, is pictured left in 2010 and right now. She has dropped hints that she might have dabbled with Botox, but says she prefers to use other treatments. In 2017 she said: ‘I’m not saying that I haven’t tried it. All that cosmetic stuff looks ridiculous on me!’ Instead, she says that she likes to use non-invasive treatments such as lasers and collagen-boosting Ultherapy.

Actress Courteney Cox, 56, is pictured left in 2010 and right now. She was briefly notorious for using fillers, but in 2016 she revealed she’d had them dissolved and no longer did anything to her face. ‘I was trying so hard to keep up, and it made things worse. Now, I’m as natural as I can be,’ she said.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue, 52, is another star who admits she ‘tried it but didn’t like it’ when it comes to Botox. In 2009, she said she had ‘experimented’ with it, but the following year said: ‘Botox gave me a bad rap. I stopped using it a while ago. I have lines on my face now and that’s OK.’

Former First Lady Melania Trump, 50, is pictured left in 2010 and right now. She is famous for her frozen features and steely gaze. Her forehead is smooth and she has no pronounced lines between her nose and mouth. The former model said in 2016: ‘I’m against injections; I think it’s damaging your face, damaging your nerves. It’s all me.’

Double Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger, 51, is pictured left in 2009 and right now.. She took a break from acting for six years from 2010 to have therapy for depression. When she returned, she looked distinctly different. She denied having had any work done, saying: ‘I’m glad folks think I look different. I’m living a happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows. Perhaps I look different. Who doesn’t as they get older?!’

Supermodel Elle Macpherson, 56, is pictured left in 2010 and right now. She suggested in 2019 that she had dabbled with Botox, but had moved on. She added: ‘I’ve learned that a good smile, good teeth, good hair, good skin, a good mood are worth a thousand injectables and Botox and facials and masks.’

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, 49, is pictured left in 2002 and right in 2010. She has admitted using Botox in the past, but says she stopped in 2012 and attributes her enviably youthful looks to other non-surgical, skin-tightening treatments. Last September, she said: ‘The results have been really amazing. It’s been the best hour [long] investment for looking at least five years younger.’

Last April, British actress Kate Beckinsale, 47, wrote on Instagram, ‘I literally don’t get Botox’ after a fan begged her to stop. She also said in an interview that she wanted to age gracefully like her mother: ‘I much prefer how [she] looks to the people I see [in LA] with wind-tunnel face.’
