Happy Mondays star Bez is launching online fitness classes to get into shape after becoming ‘seriously unfit’ during lockdown.
Get Buzzin’ With Bez will be launched on YouTube and sees the 56-year-old working out with a personal trainer.
He will also learn yoga, try hypnotherapy and visit a psychologist.
The performer confessed to developing ‘bad eating habits’ at home and becoming ‘unfit, fat and lazy’.
Bez, real name Mark Berry, said: ‘I’d like to think I’m somewhere between Joe Wicks and Mr Motivator.
‘I’ve started this new year seriously unfit, with a fat belly and creaky hips, and I can’t stop eating chocolate.
‘Last lockdown I got unfit, fat, lazy and into some seriously bad eating habits.
‘This year, this lockdown, I need to sort it out sharpish.’
In a teaser video for the series, Andrew, a trainer from Fit Forward, keeps a watchful eye on the Madchester star as he warms up in a park.
The series also promises to have ‘a whole lot of banter’ as the dancer gets put through his paces in a snowy park.
With Bez really feeling the burn and visibly pushing himself through the tough regime, the classes look to be relatable as well as beneficial.
Andrew formed a Covid support bubble with Bez in order to film the classes, and will continue to be his trainer for the foreseeable future.
A start date is yet to be announced.
Bez won Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 and stood unsuccessfully as a candidate in the 2015 general election.
