Kevin Clifton, 38, left Strictly Come Dancing a few years ago but this didn’t stop him reminiscing about his time on the show recently. The professional dancer shared with his co-star Aljaž Škorjanec his jealousy of his success on the show.
Kevin recently sat down with Janette Manrara and Aljaž for their podcast Twist and Shout.
During their chat, they all went on a trip down memory lane to explore their time on the show.
Kevin then made an admission about how he wished he’d achieved Aljaž’s successes.
He said: “You came in like a steam train and won your first series of Strictly Come Dancing.
“You’ve been one of the top pros ever since, and all of the tours that you’ve done.
“You’ve been amazing and still are amazing.”
Kevin went on to add about how much he loved one of Aljaž’s dances with his celebrity partner Helen George.
“I’ll talk about you and Helen’s Les Mis Paso that you did,” he added when speaking about his favourite routines.
“To me was one of the most unbelievable numbers I’ve ever seen on Strictly, I was blown away by it.
“On one shoulder I was like, ‘I’m blown away by it, I’m so proud of him’.
“On the other side I’m going, ‘God damn it, I wish that was mine’.
Aljaž laughed off his comments and replied, “Do you know how we save this? The two of us do it together some time.”
The dance in question was back when Aljaž was partnered with Call The Midwife star Helen George.
For Musicals week back in 2015, the pair danced to At The End Of The Day in a powerful performance.
The couple scored a total of 34 points for the dance but was sadly the week they were voted out of the competition.
However, during that 13th season, Kevin Clifton made it to the final with Kellie Bright.
Fans may remember it was Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani who took the crown.
Elsewhere, Kevin has been busy rehearsing for his new stage show Singing In The Rain.
The musical will be opening at Sadler’s Well at the end of July with Kevin playing Cosmo.
He’s been posting updates from his Instagram account about rehearsing the show.
Kevin recently penned: “Singin In The Rain @sadlers_wells.
“Can’t wait to be on stage with @fayetozersmith @cavincornwall @mradamrcooper @chargoo.”
