YouTube star Grace Victory is stable and said to be ‘responding to treatment’ after she was placed in an induced coma in a bid to fight coronavirus.
The new mum was admitted to intensive care on Christmas Day just one day after giving birth to her first child, with her family stating doctors had to deliver her son early as she was ‘too unwell to carry on with the pregnancy’.
An update on Grace’s health was shared on the influencer’s Instagram page and revealed promising news on her recovery.
‘Grace is currently stable and responding well to treatment,’ it read. ‘We as a family are truly overwhelmed by the amount of Love and well wishes sent to our Grace and we want to thank each and everyone of you for casting a light of hope our way.
‘Please still keep Grace in your thoughts and prayers. Let’s get her home. Love family & bubba x. (sic)’
The statement comes five days after Grace’s family explained that her health had declined due to coronavirus.
‘As you guys know, Grace gave birth on Christmas Eve to a beautiful baby boy, who is currently doing so well, he’s incredible,’ they announced in a previous post. ‘We love him so much.
‘Grace developed Covid-19 two weeks ago and although her symptoms were mild at first, they worsened as the days went on. Which meant they had to deliver the baby as soon as possible, as she was just too unwell to carry on with the pregnancy.’
They continued: ‘Grace was admitted into intensive care on Christmas Day due to issues with her breathing & therefore they had to make the decision of placing her into an induced coma, to give her body the rest it needs, in order to recover.’
The family added: ‘We love her so, so much and we know she’ll come out of this stronger than ever. She has dedicated her whole career to healing people, we now ask that you pray, to heal her.’
Grace had spent almost two weeks in hospital last month after falling unwell during her pregnancy.
She later explained in a YouTube video that she was ‘severely dehydrated’ and released from hospital after recovering.
‘I was on the verge of having anaemia and I was basically completely and utterly burnt out,’ she told viewers in the video.
Announcing the exciting news that she’d given birth, Grace wrote in a social media post: ‘We’re parents. It’s been a wild week but this morning baby boy arrived and is our little Christmas miracle.
‘We are all doing so well and I am f*****g in love… IM A MUVAAAAAAAAAAAA [sic].’
