I live in a static caravan and I’ve given it a mega makeover with bargain buys from B&M and Ikea – people are stunned | The Sun

A WOMAN has revealed that she lives ‘off grid’ in a static caravan and has given it a mega makeover with bargain buys from the high street.

I bought a tired 1995 caravan and gave it the ultimate makeover on the cheap

I got a water damaged caravan & transformed it into a tiny home…I'll save loads

“So we had to take all the built-in wardrobes down and then we had to re-do the back walls because of where the wardrobes had been built in, there were pins and stuff in the walls.

“So we had to replace all of that and then I wallpapered the wall and then I started painting.

“We put the new flooring down, new lights up and then I up-cycled these free bedside tables off Facebook Marketplace.”

Lucy then shared how her bedroom looks since she started the transformation, as she added: “And this is currently what we're working with.

"There's a few things I want to do – you can see we've knocked the wall out, we've got a little beam in.

“I wanna paint the radiator black and get some new blinds because those ones are a bit crusty.

“There's a few little bits that need touching up and everything, but I think she's looking quite cute.

“I got my new bed from Oak Furnitureland and I'm literally obsessed.

“I'm actually really pleased with how it turned out.

“She's cute, so I'm happy with it.”

Lucy later explained that she nabbed her bedding and blanket from B&M and her mirror from Ikea.

In another clip, Lucy shared a before and after look at the caravan’s living room and kitchen overhaul.

Before, the space was very dated and was in desperate need of some TLC.

With floral curtains and sofas and dark wood, it clearly hadn’t been touched in years.

However, Lucy got to work and proudly showed off the finished space – which was extremely modern and sleek.

The dark wood was nowhere to be seen and the old sofa had been ripped out and replaced.

Not only was new flooring laid and the walls freshly painted and wallpapered, but the static home was also complete with stunning decor items too, including a luxe mirror, a stunning vase and a variety of candles.

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @lifewithlucyr, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 46,500 views.

Social media users were gobsmacked at the caravan’s transformation and were eager to express this in the comments.

One person said: “Beautiful.”

Another added: “Dramatic change, really looks nice.”

A third commented: “You have done a fantastic job!”
