I revamped my entire 60s style home into something modern and chic using savvy hacks all with a BABY, here’s how

A SAVVY couple managed to totally revamp their sixties style home, into something modern and chic. 

Zoe Smedberg, from Belfast took to TikTok to show her impressive transformation of her home. 


She explained that Zoe and her partner tried to buy a house while pregnant with their son, but because of Covid their mortgage was declined. 

Zoe explained that she waited a year but the market was crazy, and so they decided to buy a sixties house that they could renovate and make it their own. 

In one video on her TikTok, where she demonstrates the makeover, Zoe explains: “It needed a full renovation.

“We stripped the entire house out, removed tiles, stripped years worth of wallpaper, ripped up the carpets.

“Removed the chimney breast in our room. Knocked down walls and ripped out the bathrooms and kitchens. Removed soil stack.

“Removed our ceilings. We worked in the hottest summer in years. Tore down walls, the bathroom boiler and ripped out the bathrooms.

“Removed and replaced the fireplace. Levelled out floor and ceiling. 

“Full rewire, change to gas.”

It is an app called Room planner. 

And there was one specific tip that Zoe recommended, and fans couldn’t get enough of it. 

She adds: “We tried our hand at design. 


“It is a pink icon with a white little house on it. 

“You do have to pay after a week of trial but it’s affordable and super helpful. It took a lot of the guesswork out.” 

As well as all of this, the pair also re Plastered and skimmed, add new bathrooms and kitchen, painted, new skirting boards, floor & carpets.

And after nearly four months, the pair are nearly there.
