Aldi's wooden toy range includes a checkout, pirate ship and kitchen

ALDI has launched a new range of wooden toys which includes a pirate ship, kitchen and even a supermarket checkout.

Kids can create their own shop at home with wooden food toys and "serve" them up with Aldi's wooden kitchen and grocery food sets too.

Kids can recreate the supermarket experience with a wooden toy supermarket checkout – branded as Aldi of course – and costing £39.99.

It comes with a conveyor belt, customer spacer, card reader and card, play money, cardboard sign and paper shopping bag.

There's wooden grocery set for £9.99, which has a range of food items, some of them branded Aldi too.

A £79.99 wooden kitchen set comes with spoon, spatula, open/closed sign, sink, microwave, dishwasher, oven, temperature dials and chalkboard.

And for budding chefs there's a wooden kitchen accessories set costing £9.99 and wooden tableware set for £12.99.

Keeping on the theme theme, shoppers can also get hold of a wooden toy vanity table, stool and accessories for £39.99 and a wooden ironing board toy set for £16.99.

The intricate pirate ship costs £19.99 and comes with skull and cross bone flags.

It goes on sale along with the rest of the wooden toy range online on 18 October and will be in store from 22 October.

The toy range is a SpecialBuy. These are items which can be found in Aldi's famous middle shopping aisle (but now online too) where the items change from week to week and are in limited quantities.

Aldi's not the only supermarket to get kids at the till early – Asda launched its own range of Asda branded toys, including a checkout, basket and trolley.
