Don’t expect The Rock to settle when it comes to his wedding ring.
Dwayne Johnson’s new gold wedding ring is so massive, he’s getting two lighter replacements: one made from dinosaur bone and another from a bull’s horn.
The larger-than-life actor, 47, married his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian in a secret ceremony in Hawaii in August and cemented the union with a serious amount of bling. According to WSJ. Magazine, his wedding ring is “solid gold, studded with diamonds and roughly the size of a half-dollar,” though he says he’s “not really a bling guy.”
However, he chose to go big with one of the most precious pieces of jewelry he owns — and plans to add two more versions to his rotation because the gold ring is too cumbersome to work out in.
“One is from a bull’s horn. And the other is from a Tyrannosaurus rex bone,” he said in the magazine’s December/January Issue, on newsstands Saturday, Dec.14. “Pretty cool, right?”
Though it’s unclear how Johnson plans to secure the dinosaur bone, there do appear to be plenty of websites claiming to feature genuine T-rex bone, including one from Manly Bands that retails for $725.
As for the secret ceremony, Johnson was just as careful about the details. “We had a full security detail in case there were helicopters,” he said. “But there was no press, no paparazzi. No one knew. I was shocked but so grateful. My life is so loud and noisy; the fact that it was quiet was a big win.”
He wore a white button-up shirt, unbuttoned casually, with off-white tuxedo pants, while Hashian walked down the aisle in an open-back sheath dress by Mira Zwillinger with an embroidered chantilly lace overlay, a plunging neckline and a trumpet skirt.
Perhaps The Rock is so dedicated to his bling because he waited more than 10 years to marry Hashian, revealing to WSJ that his previous from divorce from Dany Garcia “did a number” on him.
