TORMUND Giantsbane has quickly emerged into one of our favourite Game of Thrones characters – but you won't recognise him without his iconic beard.
The wildling has grown from bit-part to major player thanks to his bromance with Jon Snow and obsession with Brienne of Tarth.
Fans were delighted when series 8 kicked off to see he'd survived the fall of the Wall – and his scene (spoiler alert) with the white walker was one of the most memorable of episode one.
But some old pics of actor Kristofer Hivju have resurfaced and you'll be shocked to see him without his signature facial fuzz.
The Norwegian star, 40, who has appeared in films including The Thing and Force Majeure, hasn't always had a gloriously unruly beard – and it's really thrown (throne?) some fans.
One fan posted on Twitter: "Tormund without a beard… I'm shook."
Another said: “Tormund is definitely one of my favourite characters but have you seen him without a beard?” followed by a shocked face emoji.
While a third added: “It's as strange as seeing a dog walk on its hind legs.”
Perhaps shaving off the beard might finally help you woo Brienne, eh Tormund?
