Homeware to tech – bag brilliant bank holiday bargains with these great deals

IT’S the bank holi-yay! Which means that this weekend is as good a time as any to grab some brilliant bargains.

From garden to gaming there’s something for everyone . . .

OUTDOORS: Poundstretcher.co.uk always has great offers. Until the end of Monday, you can get ten per cent off its range of bird food and accessories including its best-selling bird feeding station, normally £14.99 but now £13. Meanwhile, patio rugs are trending so get one from fishpools.co.uk, usually £55, now £39 — they have several chic patterns and colours. Lidl and Aldi are both having “outdoors” events in-store, where you can snap up camping gear and BBQs at bargain prices.

TOYS: Major deal alert! Head to Smyths Toys (in-store or online) between now and the end of Monday and get £5 off when you spend £25, or £10 off when you spend £50 on Lego sets. Little Tikes has 20 per cent off and this weekend The Entertainer has offers across the B Friends Doll range and great ELC deals — their starfish sandpit, normally £49.99, is now £39.99.

HOME: Get to Homebase for furniture as it has a third off selected items. While there is a lovely range of sideboards, the petrol-blue velour Chesterfield sofa caught my eye, down from £450 to £300. If you’re updating a teen’s room, Very.co.uk has lots on offer. I think its range of desk chairs is great value — and the pink heart desk chair is down to £50 from £69.

TECH: If you have a gamer in the house, check out the latest John Lewis deals. Get a Nintendo Switch Pro controller for £49.99 this weekend. It’s normally £59.99. Fancuy an Apple Airpods Pro saving? Laptopsdirect.co.uk has them for £179, a saving of £40. The Shark Anti-Hair Wrap cordless vacuum cleaner is down from £479 to £299 at ao.com, a £180 saving. But the best deal for me is at Currys PC World, where the Tassimo Happy coffee machine is now £39.99, down from £99.99.
