I'm stuck at home because I'll never be able to afford a home of my own

DEAR DEIDRE: I’LL never be able to afford my own place and it’s so frustrating.

Recently I got a job in London. I hoped working in the capital might mean a decent salary and I planned to move there shortly after starting the new role.

But I didn’t realise just how expensive it would be. Rent for most flats costs more than my monthly salary.
