Blonde has had its moment in the spotlight for months now thanks to the Barbie movie, but as we approach autumn we're seeing celebrities move away from light hair colours and towards moodier, darker tones to suit the new season.
Kicking off the trend is Millie Court, who just headed to Hadley Yates salon for a rather big transformation. If you remember Millie with the pristine long bob and shiny highlights she wore in the Love Island villa back in 2021, you'll be in for a surprise now. The star has ditched her blonde hue for a gorgeous tonal brunette – and it gives her an entirely different, and very chic, look.
Posing for before and after snaps in the salon, Millie goes from having extensions-free rooted honey-blonde hair to a butterscotch brunette. Plus, she's had extensions added to take her from a mid-length cut to long and flowing lengths that fall to her waist.
Of the transformation, salon owner Hadley explains: "We have been gradually going darker with Millie's hair, so we finally went for the plunge! We used Redken Shades EQ to give us maximum shine and went for a multi-tonal brown to give it depth. We then added extensions for length," says Hadley.
This new darker look comes just two weeks after Millie took to Instagram to ponder whether or not she should go even darker with her colour. The star swapped from the light blonde hair colour she was known for having in the Love Island villa to a dirty blonde a few months ago, and the toe tip into the darker side of hair colour clearly made her question whether her true calling is a brunette shade.
Millie's first venture into 'bronde' was in April this year, but the change was most visible in July when posted snaps from her exotic Mykonos getaway. "I’m kinda loving the dirty blonde, who thinks I should go darker?" Millie asked in the caption of an Instagram grid snap posted from her holiday.
Her followers were keen to give their verdicts in the comment section, with one urging at the time: "This hair colour and length must stay forever thank you".
"Absolutely living for your darker hair era," said a second, while a third wrote: "This colour but a bob length would be unreal on you".
It seems her followers have got their wish as the star has indeed gone to the dark side, and we love brunette era Millie!
If you're keen to copy the star, you can book in at Hadley Yates for a transformation of your own with prices starting from £700 for half a head of extensions and from £150 for hair colour.
