Christmas is coming up, and despite being largely associated with gift giving and decorations, it’s also a time for some very delicious food.
Festive classics include Turkey, sprouts and Christmas pudding, as well as lip-smacking pigs in blankets.
And it seems there’s a new dish which has totally divided fans, involving pigs in blankets but… on a cheesecake!

This intriguing treat has popped up after the team over at Pleesecakes took festive favourite pigs in blankets and put them on a cheesecake, as you do, and it’s been coined as their “most controversial cake to date.”
The cake is named The Notorious P.I.B, and, like Marmite, it’s bound to completely split opinion with some loving it and others hating it.
So what’s it made of? Well the rather large cake, which costs £38, boasts a range of ingredients which you’ve probably never put together in the past.

You can expect cheddar cheese, oatmeal and thyme base, with a savoury cheesecake filling containing fresh thyme, sage and yes, the main ingredient, pigs in blankets.
The experimental cake is then topped off with sweet caramelised onion chutney, crispy pigs in blankets galore, and some fresh sprigs of thyme and rosemary.
And it’s a great dessert to bag as it’s said to serve between ten to twelve people, with Pleesecakes adding that it’s “a great alternative to the standard post-dinner cheeseboard.”
The cheesecake was first shared with fans when Pleesecakes posted it on their Instagram channel.
They wrote: “Introducing the Pigs in blanket Pleesecake!!! CONTROVERSIAL…sure. Delicious, tasty, moorish, banging & UNREAL…most certainly. All savoury, silky baked savoury cheesecake with the added bonus of the classic festive pigs in blankets!
“Coming from the cheesecake experts, this is a SERIOUS bit of cheesecake!”

The post raked in thousands of likes and many a comment too with foodies sharing their thoughts on the outlandish creation.
Love Island star Charlie Frederick penned: “Swayed me!” while another fan said: “OMG this sounds like heaven.” [sic]
Someone else added: “Omg when I first saw it I thought that is so wrong, but the more I looked at it, mmm I’m undecided, mmm yeah cut me a slice.” [sic]
And a fourth person said: “So wrong it’s right.”
The general consensus was don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, so we guess there’s only one thing left to do…
