Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge recently released their Christmas card for the 2021 festive season. In previous years, the Cambridge’s have taken to sharing sweet family snaps for their Christmas cards featuring Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. And for 2021, Kate and William opted for a delightful picture of their family away in Jordan.

William and Kate have often opted for informal family pictures when it comes to Christmas cards and birthdays.

Several of George, Charlotte and Louis’ birthday portraits have been taken by Kate herself, as she is known to be a keen photographer.

This year’s Christmas card features the Cambridge family dressed in casual wear, and George, Charlotte and Louis beam at the camera.

Body language expert Darren Stanton spoke to Coffee Friend about the Cambridge’s Christmas photo, and he explained how everyone in the picture is displaying “genuine emotion”.

Mr Stanton said: “The first thing that strikes me about the photo is that everybody pictured is flashing a genuine smile – so often in photographs, no matter how important the person being photographed is, fake smiles are shown and faces can seem very disingenuous.

“In this particular picture, everyone is displaying genuine emotion, which would suggest it’s a very happy time for the family right now.

“Kate always flashes a great smile, her whole face is engaged and her Crow’s feet – the three lines at the side of the eyes – are visible, which denotes a genuine smile and it is congruent with how open and inviting the rest of her body language is.

“Her maternal intuition beams through, as she has her hand on the back of Prince George in a reassuring way.”

Mr Stanton also pointed out similarities between George and Louis’ body language in the snap, and how this contrasts to Princess Charlotte.

Mr Stanton explained: “While the two princes, George and Louis, have adopted the same pose and position with their arms and legs – mirroring each other, Princess Charlotte sits with a slightly more turned posture suggesting she has a different personality to her siblings.”

Although she is only six, Charlotte is already showing signs she has an outgoing and confident attitude.

Charlotte is often seen running around with her siblings whenever they are out in public.

And when joining her mum and dad for engagements, Charlotte has often been seen waving enthusiastically to the crowds.

On one occasion, Charlotte was even spotted sticking her tongue out at a sporting event!

Royal expert Katie Nicholl said Charlotte is the “most outspoken” of William and Kate’s children, as per the Mirror.

Ms Nicholl explained: “It seems like only yesterday the world’s press were standing outside St Mary’s Hospital in London, waiting to meet Princess Charlotte.

“She’s the most outspoken of the Cambridge children because she’s got a huge personality.”

And it seems Charlotte’s outgoing personality can be compared to another famous royal back in the day.

Ms Nicholl added: “She’s outspoken and cheeky like William, who was an outgoing little boy who knew his mind.”
