A woman was shocked when she was "climate change" was to blame for her ruined her hair – after it snapped in half the day after she dyed it red.

Jackie Robles, from California, shared her horrifying experience on TikTok and said she was left with terrible split ends on the damaged hair.

She posted a picture of her light brown locks before heading to the salon.

The image was captioned: "Little did I know this would be one of my worst days. It was a day before my Tulum trip.

"I had someone dye my hair red, everything felt fine until I washed it the next day and it looked like this."

Jackie posted a few pictures of her transformation, showing off her new hair in vibrant red colour.

But the voluminous effect didn't last long, in fact, she was mortified when she realised her hair became so brittle that it snapped in half.

"I was told it was probably the climate change that did it or if I got in the ocean, but I made sure I didn't get in the water because I had just dyed it," Jackie explained.

"When I came back I dyed it back to black and I had to cut my hair super short.
