  • AMID transfer speculation linking him with a move away from Spurs, Christian Eriksen was brought on from the bench against Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old playmaker was left out of the starting 11 to face Aston Villa after transfer speculation linking him to Man Utd and Real Madrid.

  • MANCHESTER UNITED were among the clubs who failed with a bid for Spanish starlet Dani Olmo during the summer.

An offer of £23.5million was reportedly rejected by Dinamo Zagreb with Wolves, Everton and Bayern Munich also in for the 21-year-old.

According to Croatian daily Sportske Novosti, Dinamo want to keep Olmo for the remainder of their Champions League qualification campaign.

They feel that, even if they sell him for a smaller price once the play-offs are over, the windfall from reaching the group stage will guarantee them a higher sum.

Last month, he admitted the idea of playing in the Premier League is attractive to him.

Winger Olmo learned his trade at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy before heading to the Croatian capital five years ago.

  • DAVID DE GEA has STILL not signed his new Manchester United contract.

The Spain keeper agreed a six-year deal in principle last month but needs to put pen-to-paper, according to SunSport's Mike McGrath.

United fully expect his signature on the fresh terms – but are waiting for the green light to confirm.

They are ready to give fans a massive boost ahead of the season by declaring De Gea’s commitment after massive uncertainty over his future last year.

Paris Saint-Germain were looking to pounce for the 28-year-old to replace Gianluigi Buffon. United were under pressure to agree a new deal or risk losing their No1 for free next summer.

It means De Gea will pick up a £350,000-a-week deal after rejecting contract offers until a breakthrough was made over the summer.

He is set to start his ninth season at Old Trafford this week when he plays against Chelsea.

  • WILL Paul Pogba start against Chelsea tomorrow?

  • SPURS boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Christian Eriksen wasn't dropped against Aston Villa because of speculation he could be leaving.

Commenting on the player, he said: “It’s the beginning of the season.

“It’s nothing related. Christian, after his duty with the national team, had surgery and he is OK but we prefer he starts from the bench.”

The 27-year-old rejected a transfer deadline day move to United.
