    DRAW REDO?!

We are getting reports that the Champions League draw may be done all over again after UEFA officials' gaffe!

Manchester United were first erroneously drawn against Villarreal, whom they faced in the group stage.

Ex-Arsenal ace Andrey Arshavin was asked to draw again, and rivals Manchester City came up instead as the Yellow Submarines' opponents.

However, for reasons which are unclear, United were not then included in the pot of potential opponents for Atletico Madrid.

And so Atletico got Bayern Munich and the Red Devils were paired up with Paris Saint-Germain

    RONALDO VS MESSI

Manchester United vs Paris Saint-Germain is the match no football fan would like to miss!

The two megaclubs will lock horns in the Champions League's Last 16 following today's draw.

The first game takes place at the Parc des Princes and the second will emanate from Old Trafford.

United seem well up for the challenge…

    MAGIC POCH?

Man Utd will have to overcome the man who they want to be their next manager – Mauricio Pochettino.

Remember a few years ago when Jose Mourinho was in charge of Real Madrid against Man Utd and said "the best team lost" when his side went through?

Wonder if Poch will do something similar.

    FIX?

Man Utd fans won't be happy.

They were wrongly put in the hat to draw Villarreal, but that wasn't a possibility as they faced each other in the group stage.

They then apparently were left out of the Atletico tie, and of course ended up with PSG.

    HEAD TO HEAD

Ronaldo and Messi have played 36 times in their career.

Messi has come out on top 16 times, Ronaldo has 11 wins and nine of them have ended in a draw.

And, as you can see, they've got a fair bit of silverware in their cabinets (or wherever they keep their medals) as well…

    RECAP

We'll find out the dates for all these ties shortly.

The first legs will be played over four nights in February, and the second legs over four nights in March.

    BEST OF IT

Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City probably got the best case scenario there.

But what a tie that was saved until last. PSG vs Manchester United.

Good draw for Chelsea. And there's only 1 tie left. IT'S HAPPENED!

      VILLARREAL VS MAN CITY

Pep's men will be happy with that!

A massive error there as Man Utd came out of the hat, but it's not possible as they met in the group stages.

      Next up was Man City.

      ASSISTANT ANDREI

To help with the draw today is Arsenal cult hero Andrei Arshavin – as he's from Saint Petersburg, the host city of the final.

      START ME UP

Host Pedro Pinto has just introduced Uefa deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti to conduct the draw.

The Champions League trophy is looking shiny and wonderful.

      It's very nearly time.

      NEARLY TIME

We're seconds away from the scheduled start time in Nyon.

Anyone else nervous? Mine just could be the caffeine, to be honest.

      RONALDO VS MESSI?

Man Utd vs PSG is a possibility – I'm just throwing it out there.

Man City can't get the French side because they faced them in the group stage.

Liverpool could also end up facing Messi and Co. Mo Salah wouldn't mind that challenge, I reckon.

      HOME COMFORTS

      I should probably mention…

Unseeded teams will host the first leg in February.

Seeded teams will be at home for the second leg in March.

Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool will all be home for the second leg having won their groups.

Chelsea will be at home for the first leg.

      COMING UP

About 20 minutes away from the draw proceedings commencing.

A reminder of the pots when the balls enter the hat:

Unseeded: Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Chelsea, Inter Milan, PSG, Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon, Villarreal.

      SPUR CRAZY

One thing we still don't know is what's going to happen with Spurs in the Europa Conference League.

Their game with Rennes last week was called off due to Covid and Group G is still up in the air.

All we know at this stage is that game will not be played but the result is to be determined.

We have no idea who the winners and runners-up from that group will be.

All will (hopefully, but probably not) become clear this afternoon.
