Chelsea ‘in transfer talks to sign Croatian left-back Borna Sosa from Stuttgart' as cover for injured star Ben Chilwell

CHELSEA are in talks to sign Croatian left-back Borna Sosa from Stuttgart, according to reports.

The Blues are looking for cover to the injured Ben Chilwell and the Bundesliga ace is said to be near the top of their list.

Chilwell is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Ans the West Londoners have been frantically searching for options as backup to stand in left-back Marcos Alonso.

They even tried to get Emerson back from his Lyon loan THREE times but the French side rejected their £3.35m compensation offer.

And as a result, the Blues have entered talks with versatile left-sided star Sosa, according to Sky Germany.

Aston Villa were said to have been keen on the left-back before they landed Lucas Digne from Everton.

And with Digne also reported to have been a Chelsea target, the Blues have had to look elsewhere.

Sosa is capable of playing any where on the left side of the pitch which is said to have attracted the West Londoners to him.

Stuttgart are said to want £25million for the Croatian international which would dissuade Chelsea.

The price tag is said to reflect Sosa's importance to the team who are battling relegation in the Bundesliga.

Despite their need for cover, Thomas Tuchel says his team won't be forced into a signing.
