Conor McGregor taunts Khabib in now-deleted tweets after rival confirms pair could come face-to-face at UFC 257

CONOR MCGREGOR has posted three cryptic tweets believed to be targeted at fierce UFC rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The retired Russian confirmed he will be in the stands to watch the Notorious take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 next month.

McGregor and Khabib have an ongoing feud that exploded in their scrap over two years ago when they were involved in a post-fight melee.

Their conflict has barely died down since with contstant jibes in the media.

And it appears loud mouth McGregor wants to continue having the final word following his latest outburst.

He wrote three now-deleted tweets with the first saying: "S***** Jocks."

McGregor's second was: "You can run, but you can't hide."

And the third read: "Don't be scared homie."

It came after Khabib suggested the UFC will stage a plot to make the duo come face-to-face on Saturday 23 next month.

Reported by RT, he said: "Maybe [they could]. They’re able to do that. Anything can happen.

"It could be Moscow, Abu Dhabi, New York… Believe me, they’re the best at that. No one compares to them [the UFC]."

When asked how he will respond if he comes across McGregor, he answered: "Why should I think about that?

"I’ll act based on the situation. If you don’t like someone or they don’t like you, it’s OK.

"If I meet someone I don’t like, I’ll act based on the situation."

McGregor has not fought since January when he easily brushed aside Donald Cerrone.
