Fans only just realising who Paul Merson supports as shocked Gooners say ‘this has completely spun me’ | The Sun

ARSENAL fans have been left shocked by who Paul Merson REALLY supports.

The Sky Sports pundit went public with his support of Chelsea in a tweet yesterday – although he has never truly hidden his support of the West London club.

The former Arsenal midfielder came through the ranks at Arsenal and spent 10 years at the club between 1985 and 1997.

His affiliation with The Gunners has always seen him be famously pro-Arsenal in his views.

But Merson grew up as a Chelsea fan after being born in Harlesden in North West London.

Merson nailed his colours to the mast yesterday with a tweet that read: "Come on you Blues" alongside a blue love heart emoji.
