FORMER Manchester United duo Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand have reveled in Liverpool's defeat to Burnley with several jovial tweets on social media.
The Premier League champions suffered a shock loss to Sean Dyche's side on Thursday night, a result which ended their 68-game unbeaten run at Anfield.
And Neville, whose Man Utd side now sit six points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, was not going to miss the opportunity to mock his Merseyside rivals.
He initially posted a close-up photo of himself with his eyes widened, replicating the emoji which signifies a shocked reaction.
And he then followed that up by adding: "Football on Thursday Nights ain’t that bad."
Neville's former teammate Ferdinand then joined him in basking in Liverpool's defeat on Friday when he tweeted: "Morning morning," alongside laughing emojis.
The defeat for Jurgen Klopp's men was their first home Premier League loss since they were beaten by Crystal Palace way back in April 2017.
It was also the fourth league match in a row that the Reds have failed to score following goalless draws with Newcastle and Man Utd and a 1-0 defeat at Southampton.

Liverpool have now not won any of their last five league games and are clinging on to a spot in the top four.
Their poor form comes at a time when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Red Devils are firing on all cylinders.
The Red Devils are on a 13-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, a run which stretches back to their loss against Arsenal on November 1.
