Glorious Goodwood: A look back at the best pictures from five days of top-class racing action

WE had a bit of everything at Goodwood, from Frankie's flying dismounts to torrential rain and wind causing havoc.

The course photographers were busy snapping away and we've put the best of them all in one place to look back on.

Day 1 – Tuesday

The opening day of Goodwood really was not Glorious as rain and high winds battered the South Downs course.

However, at least the action on the track sparkled with Pinatubo romping home in the Vintage Stakes before Frankie Dettori was flying again as Stradivarius won his third-straight Goodwood Cup.

Day 2 – Wednesday

The second day saw better conditions for punters and a number of well-backed horses proved the money was right on the track.

It was all about Frankie yet again as Too Darn Hot scorched the turf in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes.

Day 3 – Thursday

Without a doubt one of the biggest stories of the day came before the racing got underway as Khadijah Mellah won the Magnolia Cup charity race.

There was then another big story as Japanese raider Deirdre shocked the field in the Nassau Stakes. Two major milestones for racing in one day.

Day 4 – Friday

Friday saw the return of star sprinter Battaash who notched up a hat-trick of wins in the King George Stakes.

Meanwhile trainer Richard Hannon landed a big double with Billesdon Brook winning the opener before Beat Le Bon took the Unibet Golden Mile.

Day 5 – Saturday

The final day of Goodwood was no less dramatic as we saw a monster performance from Khaadem to win the Stewards' Cup after he was heavily gambled on by punters
