    Jordan unsure on Ten Hag

Simon Jordan is still not sure Erik ten Hag is the right man to revive Manchester United's fortunes, despite heir win over Liverpool.

The former Crystal Palace owner told talkSPORT: "I looked at Ten Hag and thought that this job is going to be too big for him. That was my take away.

"I watched him step up at the end and I saw a small man in a suit that doesn’t fit him and I thought, ‘you don’t look like I thought you would’."

    Yorke backs Rashford up top

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has urged Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag to give Marcus Rashford a run as his central striker.

The England star, 24, scored what proved to be the winner in a big 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Monday night.

United's treble-winning forward Yorke, 50, told Lord Ping: "When you get to 24, you need to identify a specific position – that's the only way you become really good at it.

"If you look at the great goalscorers like Kane and Shearer, they were all No 9s at Rashford’s age.

"I would like to see him given a run up there. Centre forward is the most difficult position and you only improve with games."

    United win 'papered over cracks'

Manchester United's big win over Liverpool on Monday only papered over deep cracks, according to Red Devils fan Tom McDermott.

In a fan's view article, he wrote: "The club remains in the pits – it is still for sale and whoever the new owners are, when they eventually arrive, there are six key areas they must address immediately."

The areas said to be in need of attention are clubinfrastructure, ground refurbishment, training ground improvements, academy investment, player recruitment, and support for new boss Erik ten Hag.

    Never in for Neville

No clubs ever tried to sign Gary Neville from Manchester United during his trophy-laden 18-year spell with the Red Devils.

And the retired 85-cap England defender says he would never have left his boyhood club even if he had been given the chance.

He told the Off Script podcast: “It would have come out. So no, I’m unaware of any interest that’s ever been shown in me.”

    Neville 'stunned' by Liverpool result

Manchester United legend Gary Neville admitted he was shocked to see them beat Liverpool on Monday.

The Red Devils started the game bottom of the Prem after a disastrous start to the season.

And while Liverpool have made a bad start too, many still expect them to challenge of the title again this campaign.

After United's 2-1 win at Old Trafford, Neville told Sky Sports: "I'm absolutely stunned. I didn't think that was possible what I saw."

    Keane's funny Fernandes quip

Roy Keane made Sky Sports viewers giggle with his funny analysis ofJadon Sancho's goal against Liverpool.

Replays show Fernandes pointing to the area of the goal where his Manchester United team-mate should fire in his opener in last night's 2-1 win over Liverpool.

Watching footage of the goal afterwards, Red Devils legend and now pundit Keane joked: "Just in case Sancho wasn't sure where the goal was he's getting a helping hand from his captain!"

    Bayern ‘enter De Jong chase’

German heavyweights Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Frenkie de Jong, according to journalist Gerard Romero.

Manchester United have been trying to seal a deal for the Barcelona midfielder all summer, with Prem rivals Chelsea also keen to get him.

Apparently, Bayern have now proposed a loan deal with an option to buy the Dutch star, whose complicated wage and contractual arrangement with the Catalans has made his exit far from simple.

    Is De Jong finally coming?

It has been one of the most-dragged out transfer sagas of the summer – but is Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong finally on his way to Manchester United?

Reports have emerged that Red Devils chiefs are jetting out to Spain this week in an attempt to seal the deal.

The midfielder appears to have been, at best, lukewarm on the prospect of joining Erik ten Hag's new era at Old Trafford.

But the Dutch boss has persuaded the United hierarchy to make another attempt after personally holding positive talks with De Jong, according to De Telegraaf.

    He's Keane to do well

FANS joked Casemiro was desperate to get a seal of approval off Roy Keane at his Manchester United unveiling on Monday night.

Manchester United's new £70million recruit from Real Madrid made a beeline for club legend and now pundit Keane on the Old Trafford pitch ahead of their win over Liverpool.

One fan tweeted: "Lad gets it, lad went straight into the principle's office on his first day."

Another posted a photo of a torch being passed on after the two world class midfielders embraced.

    Should Fernandes have walked?

Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes was a on a booking when he indulged in the least subtle bit of time-wasting you are likely to see last night – so how did he escape a second yellow?

When Liverpool's Mo Salah headed that loose ball in to reduce arrears to 2-1 with eight minutes of the 90 to go it looked it would be game on at Old Trafford.

So why did ref Michael Oliver give the Portugal star a free pass when he cuddled and shielded the ball away from the grasp of Reds players understandably desperate to restart the action?

    Klopp on Fernandes exchange

Jurgen Klopp denies that his post-match exchange with Bruno Fernandes was heated.

He said: "It was not animated it was the most harmless conversation I ever had with a player, who was obviously as emotional as I was.

"It was the situation with Martinez, who went down under an 'awful' tackle that was obviously nothing.

"He [Fernandes] made a bit of it, he was talking to me and saying, ‘you'd do the same’."

"But it was fine after, he told me he needs these kind of conversations. Okay, it’s fine, use me!"

    Sarcastic Keane teases Bruno Fernandes

Roy Keane poked fun at Bruno Fernandes after he told Jadon Sancho where to shoot for his goal against Liverpool.

Sancho scored his first goal of the season against the Reds in a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

The winger forced Alisson into a dive by feigning to shoot before tucking the ball into the other corner.

But though the goal was left gaping with Alisson on the ground, Fernandes still pointed at the side of the goal Sancho scored in.

Keane found it amusing and said over a replay of the goal: "Just in case Sancho wasn't sure where the goal was he's getting a helping hand from his captain."

    Fernandes speaks on Ronaldo

Bruno Fernandes has revealed he may know what's next for Cristiano Ronaldo's career.

Fernandes said to Eleven Sports: "There is a lot of speculation. I may know one thing or another, but I won't be the one who will say it.

"For now he is a United player, I don’t know about his future, if he will leave or if he will not leave.

"As he said, he will speak soon and they will have time to hear his words and what he has to say.

"He can continue at a high level and give us a lot of goals but it’s his decision.

"We have to respect what he wants to do, whatever he wants to do.

"If he’s going to stay, we’ll be happy about it, if he’s going to leave because he thinks it’s best for him, I’ll be personally happy for him."

    Last move for De Jong

Manchester United chiefs are set to fly to Barcelona this week to try and seal a deal for Frenkie de Jong, according to Sport.

Erik ten Hag is still determined to add the Dutchman to his squad and has persuaded the United hierarchy to make another attempt at landing De Jong after holding positive talks with the star himself, report De Telegraaf.

So United chiefs are planning to travel to Barcelona this week to try and thrash out a deal with just over a week remaining in the transfer window.

The two clubs had agreed a fee of £72million but that arrangement is believed to have expired – but Barca are still keen to offload De Jong.

    Good morning Man Utd fans

Manchester United picked up a major 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday.

Jadon Sancho opened the scoring on 16 minutes after a low cross by Anthony Elanga from the left flank.

Marcus Rashford doubled United’s lead after 53 minutes during a counter-attack after Anthony Martial played him through with a clever ball.

Mohamed Salah put the Reds back in game in the 81st minute after David de Gea failed to hold on to a shot by Fabio Carvalho.

Meanwhile, United have agreed personal terms with Ajax star Antony and are preparing a new £80million bid this week.

The winger is in favour of a move to United and didn't train on Saturday – missing Sunday's 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam.

And according to Nicolo Schira, the Red Devils have already reached a deal with the Brazil international over personal terms.

The 22-year-old ace has agreed to a five-year contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2027.

And Marseille have rejected the chance to sign United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been trying to force an exit from Old Trafford since returning from a prolonged summer break but has been struggling to find a new team.

L’OM were the most recent club to express an interest in signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner but they are no longer considering a deal.

According to RMC Sport, the Ligue 1 outfit now have no intention of recruiting the star forward.

This acts as another major blow to the Portugal skipper, who is eager to make a return to Champions League football.

Finally, United will make one final effort to sign Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils have been chasing De Jong all summer long and even agreed a £72million deal with Barca.

However, they have been unsuccessful in their efforts to lure De Jong to Old Trafford with the deal complicated by money still owed to the midfielder.

The Blaugrana are under increasing financial pressure having failed to register new signing Jules Kounde, and are in need of at least one big sale to ease their ongoing burden.

According to journalist Marcel van der Kraan, the Red Devils will try their luck with the Netherlands international again with further funds available if necessary

    United's bad signs

Manchester United panic buying in the transfer market will NOT sort out their horror on-field problems, claims club legend Patrice Evra.

Evra said: "If you buy any players now it's desperation and it won't be good.

"Those things should have been done before pre-season.

"Don't get me wrong, when everyone saw pre-season I can understand why Ten Hag, the staff and the board would have thought the squad looks good.

"Who are they going to bring to Manchester United? Who is coming to play for United?

"If you have Chelsea, Liverpool, even Tottenham – a player will pick them instead of Man United"

    Ten Hag speaks

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag dropped Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench.

The reason behind Ronaldo's omission is a tactical one, according to the United boss.

Ten Hag told Sky Sports: "Liverpool are a great team in and out of possession, you need to press them, and you have to do that out of a block, so you need a lot of energy.

"In transition you can beat them, so that's why we've signed with [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Elanga and [Jadon] Sancho up front"

    Jurgen Klopp speaks

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp refuses to underestimate Manchester United despite their poor start as he still remembers the 4-0 loss at pre-season.

Klopp told Sky Sports: "Our injuries are not completely gone, Naby [Keita] is out but the team we could line-up today I like a lot.

"We've got a couple of good options to change, the rest is very exciting and young but we're in good shape.

"We are lucky, we played United in pre-season and could see exactly what they wanted to do; how they want to press, set-up and all the things [Erik Ten Hag] did at Ajax.

"We expected changes, part of preparation is always to think about the opposition, but then there must be a moment when you ignore that and try to play your own stuff"
