ARMOR can take this tight contest. He was impressive when scoring at Doncaster on debut with lots of pace from the gate. He travelled like a horse with more to come. Navello scooted in at Brighton so should handle this track and has a handy low draw although he hasn’t led early for his two wins. Devious Angel trotted up at Southwell and would have a chance if repeating that on turf. Beauzon scored at Ripon last time and is another with more to come.

DUBAI FOUNTAIN signed off last season with a close-up fourth in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket. That’s much the best form in this field and she’s bred to stay this far even with cut in the ground. Chester king Franny Norton is on board and he can make the most of a handy low draw. Zeyaadah was a good Listed winner when last seen in October and looks well up to this level if fit enough. Darlectable You could be a big improver for Gosden and Dettori after blowing away the cobwebs at Newbury last month. Ryan Moore favours Nicest of the Ballydoyle pair but they both have something to find on form.

SHOWALONG ran well on comeback at Ripon last time despite looking a little rusty. He’s best over this trip and there was dig in the ground when he won at York in October. He has a fair draw and the yard has won this race before. Harmony Lil has won both her starts here and isn’t ruled out trying 5f for the first time. First Company went well in hot company last season and can outrun his odds.

WIRKO looked a nice prospect when winning an Epsom Listed contest on comeback last month. He improved as the 1m2f went on so this longer trip should be ideal. Handling that tricky track bodes well for Chester’s roller-coaster ride. Fancy Man was a Listed winner last season and needed his comeback. He’ll show more here, while Law Of The Sea can progress under Frankie after two minor wins.

UNCLE JUMBO likes to front-run and has the perfect low draw to pull off those tactics. He ran well after a break at Pontefract last time and Kevin Ryan has started the season well. Paws For Thought is another who gets on with it and could be hard to peg back if hitting the front early. It’s early days for Tanfantic who was last seen winning well at Lingfield in August. The booking of William Buick catches the eye.

PINK EYED PEDRO ran a cracker when second over the big Aintree fences in the Topham last time and can go close again. A 3lb rise for that looks fair. Eritage was an easy winner here latest and has every chance from the front for in-form Paul Nicholls. Fidux likes this trip and can hit the places.
