On Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, ITV hosts Ranvir Singh and Adil Ray were back to present the latest news headlines. The duo discussed a range of topics and spoke with a number of guests throughout the show including heartbroken David Fawcett, the grandfather of Star Hobson.

Star died at just 16-months-old in September last year at her home in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Prosecutors said the young girl was “repeatedly physically assaulted over the weeks and months before her death”.

Star’s mother Frankie Smith, 20 has been found guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child.

Her partner, Savannah Brockhill, 28, has been found guilty of murder.

During the segment, David detailed what happened to his beloved grandchild in the lead up to her death.

Viewers took to social media to share their thoughts, and many were left devastated and outraged by what happened to Star.

User Unique Dolls penned: “Social services have failed yet another innocent child. AGAIN!! Where does it end? #GMB.” (sic)

Chris raged: “Heartbreaking watching Star’s grandad on #GMB the social services system needs a complete reworking from top to toe & the Government need to make it priority No1! #RIPStar.”

While Lisa added: “Same story of missed opportunities, again and again, #GMB.”

“Blah blah useless statement, lessons learnt etc doesn’t bring the poor baby back. Absolutely disgusting they don’t recognise the signs,” Princess P pointed out. (sic)
