Strictly Come Dancing fans don’t have much longer to wait until they find out who the celebrities are paired up with for the new series. As she is hosting It Takes Two, Janette Manrara is not competing and instead was able to tease who she thinks could win the 2021 series as well as shedding light on her husband Aljaz Skyrjanec’s celebrity partnership.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she teased: “The celebs are all incredible.
“I was assistant choreographer on the celeb/pro dance, you know the one they do for the first time in their partnerships.
“Obviously it’s been very different the last two years because of social distancing and Covid but I did get to meet all of them and see all of the partnerships and get a first eye glimpse of what’s going to be happening, which is great because then for It Takes Two I have met them already and the ice is a bit broken.”
Janette added: “They are all good. Rhys is incredible. Rhys is absolutely incredible.
“They all have something. Adam Peaty is the nicest guy in the world. Of the girls, Katie is incredible, Judi’s personality is insane and she can dance. They’re all good.
“Sara Davies is like the nicest woman ever, I really like her as well. I don’t know it’s hard to pick one because they’re all good.
“You know how it is on Strictly, you’re like ‘Oh they’ll win,’ then you change your mind, ‘Oh actually…’” We have an especially good bunch this year.”
Asked who her husband is paired with Janette smiled: “That is the golden question, you will have to watch.
“He is rehearsing already and he is very, very happy.”
With Janette hosting It Takes Two and Aljaz in training, she admitted it will be hard to spend time apart but they are in a better situation than last year.
“You know it’s okay we are used to it,” she explained.
“Last year we did 11 weeks apart to do the series and I couldn’t see him at all, touch him, hug him or anything and that was harder.
“When I saw him at the studios and couldn’t squeeze him it was worse but this time I can. Even though we’re apart we come home to each other so it’s nice.”
However, Janette is missing out on being part of the professional choreographed dances.
“I did get to watch all the professionals do the pro dances and my heart was just like aargh I have the worst case of FOMO ever,” she admitted.
“I’m super happy to do It Takes Two but I wanna be in there. Why can’t I do both? I wish I could do both.”
Janette recently revealed she’d begged bosses to let her return to the dance floor for one more dance.
“The last dance I ever did on Strictly with a celebrity was [to] One Singular Sensation, and that song was one of the first musical theatre songs I learned and performed to as a kid,” she said on The Monday Mile podcast.
“It was the last one I danced to with HRVY on Strictly, so right before we danced it, I had this gut feeling, like, ‘If this is my last one, I’m going to go out happy as heck’ because it was perfect.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday on BBC One at 7.45pm.
