Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway officially confirms live return date

The live return date of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway has officially been confirmed, with the show set to make a comeback extremely soon.

Last year, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s eponymous variety show aired on ITV from February to April, during the early months of the coronavirus pandemic.

Although the pair revealed a couple of weeks ago that filming for the new series was underway, a transmission date for the 2021 programme hadn’t been revealed… until now.

Yes, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is set to make its highly-anticipated return this February, promising viewers ‘the happiest ninety minutes of the week’.

Fans have even been given a taste of the sort of cheeky antics Ant and Dec are going to get up to in a new promo video for the programme, which shows the pair and Stephen Mulhern wearing a variety of spangly outfits.

Plenty of viewers will surely be grateful that Saturday Night Takeaway is coming back, considering the uncertainty surrounding the longevity of the national lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Several people expressed their excitement over the announcement of its return on social media.

‘YEESSSS!!!! We so need those happiest 90 minutes of the week!!!!’ one person said in response to the news.

‘Hurray!! Really needed this back to help the weekends be better’ another remarked.

On January 11, Ant and Dec shared a picture from the Saturday Night Takeaway set, showing Ant strapped to a torturous-looking chair.
