Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) warned Sean (Antony Cotton) that Laurence (Robert Shaw Cameron) seems to have been married to a mystery woman. Sean later tried to sneak a look at Laurence’s phone, and when the latter spotted him, he walked out, furious. Although the Coronation Street barman is missing his ex, Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) ends up getting the wrong end of the stick about something which could jeopardise Sean and Laurence’s future.

Sean’s teenage son Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) confides in Todd that since Sean split up from Laurence, he won’t leave him alone and he’s getting on his nerves.

Keen to help, Todd later urges Sean not to give up on Laurence.

However, the Weatherfield favourite ends up leaving a stinking message on Laurence’s phone.

A drunk Laurence soon calls in at the Rovers, where he tells Todd about Sean’s voice message.

Laurence also confides in Todd about how much he likes Sean.

As Todd helps an intoxicated Laurence into a cab, Eileen passes and spots what she deems as something suspicious.

Todd later tries to explain he was simply making sure that Laurence got home safely, but Sean doesn’t believe him.

Soon after, Laurence approaches Sean in the hope they can talk things through, but when Sean accuses him of copping off with Todd, Laurence is stunned.

When Sean then finds out from Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) that Todd is telling the truth, Sean’s gutted to think he’s blown it with Laurence.

Sean has been unlucky in love recently and was hoping Laurence would end up being the one.

He recently started a promising relationship with Frank Bardsley (Simon O’Brien).

After a happy start to their romance, Sean soon noticed a darker side to Frank.

After discovering he used to bully George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), he also caught Frank yelling at Dylan.

Furious, Sean soon broke up with him and has been in search of someone more suitable ever since.

Laurence seemed perfect for Sean until the phone incident.

With Laurence’s confession to Todd, will the two be able to work through their differences?

Perhaps they will end up communicating truthfully and Sean will learn all about Laurence’s ex-wife.

However, it seems Sean’s public accusations towards Laurence, which are yet to air, could have ruined things for the pair.

After he learns Todd was in fact telling the truth, romantic Sean might run off after Laurence, hoping to make amends.

With Dylan also keen for his dad to reunite with Laurence in order to get off his back, he may end up putting in a good word for Sean.

Will the two be able to move forward and rekindle their relationship?

Either way, it seems there will be more romantic drama the cobbles’ staple, Sean.

Coronation Street continues on Monday at 8pm on ITV.
