There are set to be some challenging times ahead for Daniel Osborne as the exit of Katie McGlynn’s character Sinead Tinker looms – meaning it is increasingly likely that she will die amid her cancer battle in Coronation Street.
Rob Mallard told Metro.co.uk that while he likes playing the happier and lighter scenes, Daniel’s dark side is only ever so far away and he expects that it would return ten fold were he to lose Sinead.
Explaining that his alter ego believes that Sinead is the only love of his life, Rob speculated that Daniel would be pushed over the edge and would never be the same again if Sinead lost her battle with the disease.
Asked whether he would cope asa single father to Bertie, Rob added that it would be extremely difficult for him if he was coping with the grief of losing Sinead – and he could well repeat the mistakes of his own father.
Corrie haven’t confirmed Sinead’s exit storyline but it has been all but stated now that the character will be bowing out as part of the emotional storyline.
So we should have the tissues at the ready.
