Emmerdale fans are certain they've sussed out Tracy Metcalfe's dark storyline with baby Frankie.
Eagle-eyed viewers saw on Thursday night how Tracy accidentally injured her baby daughter while repeatedly wiping 'germs' from her face – and scratching the baby's cheek in the process.
Tracy was also insistent on buying new dummies for Frankie after great-grandma Faith dropped one on the floor while babysitting Frankie, with Lydia unable to do so.
Tracy was finally allowed home from work at the B&B by Pollard, who took pity on the new mum as he could see she was still fretting about her daughter.
Though many viewers wondered if Tracy was suffering from postnatal depression after becoming a mum for the first time, others are now convinced there could be a sinister twist in store.
Viewers are certain Tracy is suffering from Munchausen Syndrome by proxy – a mental illness in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury in a person under his or her care.
According to the NHS, a similar condition is referred to as Fabricated or induced illness (FII).
The NHS website states it is a "rare form of child abuse" which "happens when a parent or carer, usually the child's biological mother, exaggerates or deliberately causes symptoms of illness in a child."
Frantic viewers took to social media to share their predictions, with one writing: "Tracy got MSBP Munchausen syndrome by proxy?"
"I wonder if Tracy has Munchausen's?" another posted.
And a third said: "Is it postnatal depression Tracy has, or Munchausen syndrome by proxy?"
"Tracy will be putting a face mask on the baby next!" another fan predicted.
While another wrote: "If Tracy keeps wiping Frankie's face, she's gonna end up wiping the entire thing off."

Tracy has been struggling with motherhood since bringing Frankie home from the hospital – and many fans are wondering why her boyfriend Nate hasn't pegged something's up.
"Has seriously no one twigged that Tracy has got mental health issues yet?" one Twitter user asked, while another said: "I'm so confused. I can understand Nate, friends and family not spotting that she's got postpartum psychosis, but the GP practice team?"
Emmerdale continues on Friday at 7pm.
