I’m A Celeb’s Jordan North insists there were no heaters in chilly Welsh castle

Jordan North has insisted that there were no heaters in the castle on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The 30-year-old BBC Radio 1 DJ, who came second on the show this year, squashed theories from viewers of the ITV show who believed there were heaters in the castle keeping them warm.

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the 12 contestants got chilly this year as the show took place at Gwrych Castle in North Wales instead of taking place in the jungle in Australia like it usually does.

During a chat with GQ magazine, the chap opened up on the cold weather and said he was ready for the show to be over.

Talking on his new found national fame, he said: "This is very new to me. I'm quite relieved to be out of the castle, to be honest.

"It was such a great time, we had so much fun, but it was hard.

"You might have watched it and thought, 'It's only a castle', but it was cold, the days were long, the hunger got worse, so I was ready for leaving."

The star also opened up on how he felt during the first week after he was voted to do every trial that week.

He told the publication: "That week was hard for me, because you wake up every morning thinking, 'I did one last night and I just know I'm going to do one tonight'. You just know it.

"You've got a feeling. Then, when you get voted every day, there's a little angel on your shoulder saying, 'Oh, people like you, you're entertaining,' and the other part thinks, 'You're gobby, they don't like you, they want to see you suffer'.

"All day you've got these little angels and devils on your shoulder, so you have no idea how you're coming across."

It comes after Jordan's campmate Victoria Derbyshire revealed that they exchanged secret texts before the show.

After a rumour of the line-up was announced, Victoria messaged Jordan to say: "Oh my god are you doing I'm A Celeb?!"

Jordan replied: "Are you!? Is it true?"

Clearly not allowed to confirm, Victoria coyly replied: "Can't confirm or deny – same for you?!"

Jordan then replied: "Haha yep."

She wrote back: "I bet we're even near each other right now! It's gonna be the biggest laugh ever."

Jordan wrote back: "100%."
