Love Island’s Iain Stirling awkwardly avoids talking about Caroline Flack after tripping down the stairs on Loose Women – The Sun

LOVE Island's Iain Stirling appeared on Loose Women today – but appeared desperate not to talk about Caroline Flack.

The 31-year-old star delivered an awkward start to the show when he tripped over the stairs on the way in and replied simply "Mmm hmm" when Caroline's name was mentioned.

However, Iain was more than happy to sing the praises of girlfriend Laura Whitmore, who will be replacing her when the series returns this month.

He is delighted that the 34-year-old would be joining him in South Africa, telling the panel: "There's mortgage commitments that need to be considered."

However, Andrea McLean opened the interview saying: "Obviously Caroline Flack isn't going to be hosting it this year…"

Iain replied simply: "Mmm hmmm."

She went on: "But your lovely other half Laura's going to be taking it on?"

At that he sprung to life, blabbering: "My lovely partner Laura Whitmore, that's her name, surname was not her choice, first name: mum and dad picked it.

"She's great isn't she? I love her. And there's mortgage commitments that need to be considered."

Asked, bizarrely, if the show would mean he sees her more or less, he replied: "More, because she'll be coming to South Africa now and again."

He also explained how his day works when he's on the show, revealing: "I get there about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I go for a run in the morning.

Suggesting that might not be entirely true, he added: "The problem is, I've been saying all this to Laura: 'I went for a run.' Now she's going to be in South Africa."

Caroline, 40, stood down from Love Island after being accused of hitting boyfriend Lewis Burton at her flat in north London.

She has been released on conditional bail before her trial on March 4.
