Money Heist: Fans believe Tatiana is key in series five events
The fifth season of Spanish thriller Money Heist is currently in production following severe coronavirus delays. However, before the crime drama finally returns to Netflix next year, fans might need a reminder of the confusing events so far.
An observant Money Heist fan has spotted an inexplicable plot hole in the opening episode of the Spanish drama’s third season.
Following the Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) and his team’s successful hit on the Royal Mint of Spain, they kick off the next instalment in hiding from the police.
In between seasons, new team member Monica Gaztambide/Stockholm (Esther Acebo) and Denver (Jaime Lorente) are raising Cincinnati (Luca Anton) as their son.
The child is, in fact, the offspring of Monica’s affair with the Mint’s former director, Arturo Román (Enrique Arce), a spineless hostage who caused trouble for the team’s first heist.

After discovering she was pregnant during the Professor’s first masterplan, Monica gives birth to Cincinnati off-screen once she has left Arturo for good.
However, a baffling scene from Money Heist’s third season seems to have completely twisted the timeline of the whole series.
At the start of the season premiere, it’s revealed Arturo has become a motivational speaker, and he’s shown condemning the actions of the band of criminals to a large audience.
One perceptive fan has crafted a YouTube video, which explained why Arturo’s speech makes almost no sense within the narrative of the series.
They said: “In season three, Arturo is talking to his fans about his poor son.
“If they are in hiding, Arturo wouldn’t know the gender of the child.”
Arturo endured a number of traumatic encounters during the heist, most notably with the Professor’s psychotic right-hand man, Berlin (Pedro Alonso).
His condemnation of the team certainly makes sense considering the pain he went through in order to escape the Mint with his life intact.

However, Monica was in the very early stages of pregnancy during the heist, and only gave birth after she had left Arturo for Denver.
Plus, the entire team was steering clear of the public eye, meaning there was no way Arturo could know if he had a son or daughter.
Perhaps he simply assumed the gender of his child, though the former director seems far too certain for this to be pure guesswork.
Moreover, Denver and Monica seemed pretty keen to cut all ties with the outside world, including Cincinnati’s biological father after his selfish actions could have got them killed.
It’s pretty unlikely the undercover criminals would have contacted one of their most outspoken opponents with updates on his son’s progress in the intervening years between heists.
Thankfully, most fans have been able to brush past these sorts of mistakes, and Money Heist’s fifth season is on track to bring the series to an equally unpredictable and spectacular close.
Filming is currently underway in Madrid, and it’s hoped the extended final instalment will drop on Netflix by next summer.
