The true-crime documentary series will premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, January 13.

What is Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer about?
Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer explores the case of serial killer Richard Ramirez.
Ramirez, known as The Night Stalker, was an American serial killer, serial rapist and burglar.
From June 1984 until August 1985, Ramirez killed at least 14 people, and raped and tortured 24.
The four-part series is told through first-person interviews, archival footage and photographs.
The series is directed by Chicago Fire’s Tiller Russell and executively produced by Russell, Tim Walsh, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman.
The haunting trailer begins with glamours shots of Los Angeles in the 1980s sunshine.
A survivor of The Night Stalker is heard describing her encounter with the killer.

She describes him speeding up behind her on the road and stopping in front her, with a “horrible big grin” starring at her like a “killer clown”.
The trailer then flashes through archival news broadcasts, footage and images as well as including snippets of dialogue from investigators and survivors.
The synopsis for the docu-series reads: “The Netflix limited docu-series Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer tells the spellbinding true story of how one of the most notorious serial killers in American history was hunted down and brought to justice.
“In the sweltering summer of 1985, a record-breaking heatwave hit Los Angeles, along with a series of murders and sexual assaults that at first seemed disconnected.
“The victims were men, women, and children. They ranged in age from six to 82. They came from different neighbourhoods, racial backgrounds and socioeconomic levels.
“Never before in criminal history had a single killer been responsible for such a grisly array of crimes.
“Racing against the clock to stop this nocturnal monster were a young detective named Gil Carrillo from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the legendary homicide investigator Frank Salerno.
“As they worked tirelessly to solve the case, the media hounded their tracks, and panic gripped California.”
