Dancing on Ice’s brand new judge Oti Mabuse has revealed the advice her Strictly Come Dancing judge sister Motsi has given her on the lead-up to the ITV show’s launch.
It was recently announced that professional dancer Oti, 31, would be taking the place of John Barrowman on the judging panel of the ITV entertainment show, alongside returning stars Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo. .
Now, speaking to OK! and other press outlets, Oti explained she’d turned to her sister as she prepared to make her debut.
Oti told us: “We're really close, my sister and I. We know from sharing a moment that we're quite loud and we literally are so bubbly. Her advice to me was just to be myself.”
The Masked Dancer star continued: “Everyone from the BBC congratulated me and said the same thing – just be yourself.”
“Be honest, say what you see, and say what you feel, and say how you kind of hope they will improve and how they can better themselves.”
“Because, at the end of the day, it's about the celeb, it's about the show, and it's about helping them get better to actually win.”
The celebrity line-up, which includes Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor and fellow Strictly alumni Brendan Cole, is certainly in good hands when it comes to Oti.
Not only has she had experience of performing under pressure, but she’s also won Strictly Come Dancing twice.
Opening up about her exciting new job and how she feels to be on the other side of the table, Oti continued to say that she’s still on cloud nine.
The star said: “I've done a couple of panel shows where I've been like a dance captain, dance detective, or something, but I've never been called a judge.”
“I love competition and watching people learn new skills and try to get better every single week.”
“It's a journey I absolutely enjoy to be a part of and watch. To know that I am doing it now with ice skating is very, very exciting for me. I literally can't wait, I am buzzing!”

Meanwhile, the show’s hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have shared their excitement that Oti is now part of the Dancing on Ice family.
Phil, 59, told us: “I'm incredibly excited to be back with the team. It's lovely to obviously share something nice with Holly, Jayne, Chris and Ashley.”
“We've also welcomed Oti for the first time, which is delightful. We've all had a brilliant afternoon. We've toasted her arrival – several times.”
