Amanda Owen, 46, features in her own Channel 5 reality series called Our Yorkshire Farm. The programme follows Amanda, her husband Clive Owen, 67, and their nine children as they go about their daily routine of running Ravenseat Farm. Since the show first aired in 2018, the Owen family has become a hit with viewers, as they not only show the successes of farming, but also the struggles they have faced over the years.

Amanda met Clive when she was just 21, in 1996, and they came across each other on Clive’s farm.

Clive would have been 42 when they met, and they fell in love despite the difference in age.

The farmers tied the knot in 2000 four years after their first encounter.

Their eldest child, Raven, is now studying at university and in the latest series, 16-year-old Reuben left school.

The couple’s other children include Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clemmy and Nancy.

Discussing the romantic moment she met Clive, Amanda recalled: “It was 1996, I was a freelance Shepherd.”

She continued: “I was working on a dairy farm in Cumbria and the farmer had a small flock of sheep and he would borrow a ram every year off his friend, who is called Clive.

“One evening after milking, he gave me instructions and directions as to where I had to stop.”

“I drove and I drove, and I have no idea where I was going but I was coming back, and it was a homecoming as I drove back into Yorkshire,” she added to Welcome to Yorkshire.

“I drove through the water splash and up into the yard and it was really dark, so I didn’t get a right good look at Clive.”

Amanda went on to explain how Clive phoned her up a week after their first introduction to ask her out.

However, the mum-of-nine admitted she wasn’t so keen as she ignored him at first.

“I ignored him,” she explained. “I’m not having any of that, not interested.”

Clive didn’t give up though, as he later asked Amanda to help him with one of his sheep that had broken its leg.

“He reeled me in you see,” Amanda added. “That was it, and that was a start of a beautiful relationship.”

Amanda made her on-screen debut in 2011 in the documentary series The Dales.

She was also a panellist on Jeremy Vine and had appearances on This Morning, Lorraine and The One Show.

The new series of Our Yorkshire Farm is expected to air later this year after Channel 5 confirmed 20 new episodes of the show were to be filmed.

Amanda, who regularly keeps her Twitter followers updated, also revealed the show would return later this year.

She explained she didn’t know the exact dates the programme would air, just that it would be in autumn.

Our Yorkshire Farm is available to watch on Channel 5.
