Judi Love has become the 14th celebrity to join the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Loose Women panelist appeared on the ITV daytime show today (August 13) to confirm she has been added to the growing line-up of stars announced for the BBC dance contest.

The 41-year-old comedienne surprised fans by feigning ignorance over the identity of the mystery contestant during the course of the show.

She appeared on today's panel alongside Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson and new Loose lady Katie Piper.

Despite Linda being lowered into the Loose Women studio on a wire, Judi later revealed she was the surprise Strictly addition.

She joins Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty who was confirmed as the 13th contestant joining the series earlier this afternoon.

They will both appear on the programme when it airs this Autumn on BBC One.

Judi and Adam join 12 stars already announced for the series, including EastEnders stars Rose Ayling-Ellis and Nina Wadia.

Greg Wise, BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker, Tilly Ramsay, soap star Katie McGlynn and Dragon's Den entrepreneur Sara Davies were previously announced for the series.

CBBC's Rhys Stevenson, Bake Off winner John Whaite, Robert Webb, TV presenter AJ Odudu and McFly star Tom Fletcher complete the list of celebrity names revealed for the show thus far.

Speaking after the announcement, Judi said: "I am so nervous.

"This is so out of my comfort zone, but what an opportunity.

She added: "These guys are like athletes. What they do with their body, how they move, it's so inspiring.

"So any opportunity to learn a new skill like this [is an honour]."

Revealing she has known about her participation for "a couple of weeks", Judi continued: "I'm just overwhelmed.

"I'm overwhelmed with excitement."

Judi then called her friend Kelly live on air, adding: "It's an absolute pleasure.

"I'm so excited. This is something very new for me. I'm very nervous but I'm going to put my heart into it."

This is a breaking news story and is constantly being updated.
