The Masked Singer final on ITV saw Sausage, Robin and Badger battle it out for the top spot. The winner had big shoes to fill, taking the crown from season one champion – Nicola Roberts. The second-place star has been revealed and here’s all you need to know about Badger’s identity.

Who was Badger on The Masked Singer?

The moment fans have all been waiting for has finally arrived as the fan-favourite quirky characters were unmasked.

Viewers had been continuously scratching their heads working out who was behind Sausage, Badger and Robin.

Badger was the hardest contestant to guess, with many believing it was singer Ne-Yo.

The most popular guess for Sausage was Joss Stone, with many guessing Robin was Aston Merrygold.

Sadly it was Badger who just missed out on the top spot and they were unmasked.

Badger turned out to be Ne-Yo and the panel loved the result. He said: “I have had so much fun with this, I would happily do it again.”

Badger said they knew what it was like to be sat on a panel as a judge.

The panel thought their accent was fake, saying they believed Badger was American.

They performed Believer by Imagine Dragons and Nicola Roberts said she was left with goosebumps.

The latest guesses were Adam Lavine, Ne-Yo, Anderson Paak, Pharrell Williams.

Badger was a fan-favourite from the beginning as fans were left perplexed following their performances.

Their second performance was to Wrecking Ball, their favourite song from the series.

They said they felt blessed to have made it this far and the panel said they had so much confidence.

Rita had said: “None of it adds up, not one bit” and they were all left stumped.

Davina McCall said he had played the game “so well”. She stuck with Pharrell Williams as her guess.

Mo Gilligan said he was a favourite to watch while Rita Ora said she felt “so silly” giving all the guesses under the sun.

Roberts was still convinced it was Ne-Yo, meanwhile Jonathan Ross said Robin Thicke.

One fan responded: “I’m so excited!! But also kinda sad that it’s the final. I’ve loved this series from start to finish and you’ve been a fantastic presenter Joel!!”

This season saw Mo Gilligan replace Ken Jeong on the panel and he has really embraced his new role.

He shared a photo of himself in a “James Bond” style suit on Instagram and fans said they had loved seeing him as host.

The previous winner Nicola Roberts also joined the panel, and she was behind the winning Queen Bee mask for season one.

More treats were provided as fans enjoyed one last performance by all 12 contestants.

One fan said on Twitter: “Eeeeeeeekk finale night one last night of shouting ‘take it off take it off’ at the tv.

“Going be gutted it’s over. Hope you return for a third!!”

The unique singing competition should return for a third season next year when 12 new celebrities will perform in brand new costumes.
