What did Linda and Martin do on Christmas Day in EastEnders?

EastEnders has been keeping viewers gripped all through Christmas as a question mark hangs over the fate of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).

Christmas Day’s explosive episode saw Phil (Steve McFadden) out for revenge on Keanu after learning that he is the father of Sharon (Letitia Dean)’s unborn baby, with Martin (James Bye) seemingly killing him as payback.

And the New Year’s Eve episode has suggested that Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) might somehow be mixed up in all of this – but just what did she and Martin do on Christmas Day?

Here’s what we know so far…

What did Linda and Martin do on Christmas Day in EastEnders?

Tuesday night’s EastEnders ended with Linda coming face to face with Martin, who ordered her to keep quiet about what they did on Christmas Day – or they’ll both be dead.

As it stands we don’t know what their secret is, but it’s possible that Linda could know what really happened between Martin and Keanu on Christmas Day.

Similarly Linda’s been feeling very guilty when she’s around Keanu’s mum Karen (Lorraine Stanley) – suggesting she knows something about what happened.

The Christmas Day episode of the soap saw Keanu attempting to escape with Louise (Tilly Keeper) and baby Peggy after confessing to her that he is the father of Sharon’s unborn child.

However it turned out Louise had set him up and Keanu was kidnapped by Martin and driven to a warehouse outside the realms of Albert Square.

It’s then assumed that Martin shot Keanu, although the audience didn’t actually see those scenes.

He later returned to Walford and showed Ben video evidence of the crime – in which a gunshot sounded.

Is Keanu Taylor dead?

We don’t yet know for certain if Keanu is alive or dead.

It’s presumed he was shot by Martin, but leaked paparazzi photos of scenes which have yet to air show Linda being caught in an armed stand-off with Keanu and Martin, as well as Keanu at the airport.

It’s not clear whether these photos are real, staged or just meant to throw us off the scent of what’s going on – but they’ve kept us all guessing.

One thing is for certain though, and that is that Danny Walters is leaving EastEnders.

How, we’ll no doubt find out soon enough…

EastEnders continues on New Year’s Day on BBC One at 8pm.
