Love Island fans were left baffled with one saying in the villa during the launch show, after Lucie Donlan kept repeating the bizarre phrase 'bev' on the regular.
The ITV match-making programme has brought lingo such as ‘my type on paper’, ‘crack on’ and ‘muggy’ to the nation – but fans aren’t so convinced 'bev' will be quite so popular.
But what does the word actually mean?
The 21 year old explained her lingo to fans during a promotional video for the show.
She explained: “A bev is a hot guy, if he’s your boyfriend he’s your bev, but if he’s not your boyfriend he’s a bev.”
Fans in their masses have taken to Twitter to share their views on the phrase, with one writing: “Stop trying to make ‘bev’ a thing Lucie! IT’S NOT A THING!”

“This Lucie girl is proper trying to shove this ‘bev’ thing down my throat and I’m honestly sick and tired of it,” a second wrote, while a third added: “Bev? Is that the new phrase?”
There was one saying, however, that has already proved to be quite a hit with fans.
“It is what it is,” Sherif Lanre said when gorgeous Amber Gill decided to step forward for another lad – despite being coupled with her.
