The Great British Bake Off 2019 has revealed its finalists.
It only seems like yesterday that we were introduced to Bake Off’s youngest ever line-up.
And now we’re only a week away from finding out who will be the next champion.
The semi-final on Tuesday night saw the remaining fab four contestants put through their paces with patisserie for a place in the grand final.
And after three tough rounds, our finalists are Steph Blackwell, Alice Fevronia and David Atherton.
For the technical challenge they took on a croquembouche, while the showstopper – an edible display case – produced some breath taking creations.
There were only three places in the final however, and sadly it was Rosie Brandreth-Poynter who fell at the last hurdle.
Rosie said of her time in the tent: ‘I am gutted.I just have to be happy with everything that I’ve done so far.’
Judge Prue Leith added that David came close to being sent home.
She explained: ‘If Rosie had had a good day it would have been David that was going’, adding ‘She tried to do a lot of skills but they weren’t a good collection together.’
Next week it’s final day, and challenging souffle rears its fluffy head in the tent. Who will be given the coveted Bake Off cake plate trophy?
The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
