Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima are “potential winners” of Strictly Come Dancing thanks to their “great rapport”, a body language expert said.
The 26 year old ex-Love Island star and the 29 year old pro dancer have a lot of respect for each other and shared “tactile moments” during their debut routine on Saturday, Darren Stanton said.
Earlier this week, OK! revealed how Zara was putting her all into winning Strictly – even if it meant spending time apart from boyfriend Sam Thompson. And body language expert Darren, after analysing the connection between the TV presenter and her partner Graziano, said the pairing have what it takes to win the Glitterball trophy.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Darre claimed: “Zara and Graziano have a great rapport with lots of reciprocal liking and tactile moments throughout rehearsals and during the routine. It's clear Zara has a lot of confidence and trust in Graziano through her authentic smiles and their friendly connection.
“They gave each other lovely signals of pride and reassurance during the routine. There's a lot of respect between them. I think they could go on to be potential winners of the competition.”
Darren also said that, despite showing nerves during her first routine, radio presenter Nikita Kanda and her dance partner Gorka Marquez have an “electric” connection. He said: “I could tell instantly that Nikita was nervous when she danced for the first time with Gorka. But it is clear she and Gorka do have a really strong connection already.
“Their connection felt almost electric, and I can tell they're on the same page with each other. Although the judges were quite critical, I could see a reciprocated chemistry between them as they had strong eye contact and trust in each other's movements."
Darren added: “If Nikita can tone down her nerves on the dancefloor, they could become a favourite couple.”
On Friday the body language expert also opened up on how Strictly favourite Bobby Brazier had already developed a ‘deep connection’ with his partner Dianne Buswell. The close bond between the EasterEnders actor, 20, and the pro dancer, 34, could be seen through their ‘tactile gestures’, ‘eye contact’ and the ‘genuine smiles’ they shared, Darren said.
Meanwhile, at the weekend, OK! revealed how Zara was putting in 10 hour days in the rehearsal studio ahead of her Strictly debut. Her mum, Karen, told us Zara was working hard because dancing did not come naturally and she had "no dance experience whatsoever."
And, earlier this week, Zara showed the effect her dedication was having on her feet as she showed off a gruesome toe injury.
She uploaded a video to her Instagram account – zooming in on a nasty wound she had suffered – along with the caption: “Half my toe has come off tbh.”
She added: “I put this on my close friends but tbh I think the world needs to see this.”
In the video, she laughed and said: “I just have to let you all know that like half of my toe has come off. That’s half my toe!”
