Glam student sliced to death by ‘scythe’ in horror 125mph crash into tractor

Three people were killed after crashing into a scythe towed by a tractor which sliced through through their car.

The driver of a carpool vehicle was speeding at 125 mph between Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, in Russia when it rammed into heavy farm machinery.

Student Eva Melnikova, 20, has been named as one of the two passengers inside the Nissan X-Trail BlaBlaCar which was crushed in the horrific collision.

According to reports a mechanised scythe was attached to the back of a slow moving tractor and as the speeding car smashed into it, Eva was decapitated.

The driver, aged 25, and second passenger – neither of whom have been named – also died on the motorway in southwest Russia.

Alina Derbusheva, a friend of the student who rushed to the crash scene, said she was told that the carpool driver had been moving at 125 mph.

“It has been confirmed that this driver was going at 200 kilometres per hour, and there was no breaking distance,” she said.

“It is not clear what he was expecting to happen.”

She said: “Eva was in a BlaBlaCar.

“At high speed they drove into a tractor towing a scythe that cut through the cabin of the car.

“My friend was 20.

“I don't know why it happened that we didn't meet tonight, as we had planned.

The Nissan was reported to be travelling at almost double the speed limit on the highway.
