Prince Charles is still "very hurt" by Prince Harry'sOprah Winfrey blast and tensions are still "running high" within the Firm, a royal insider has claimed.

Harry and Charles’ relationship hit "rock bottom" after he made a series of claims about the Royal Family alongside wife Meghan Markle, it is reported.

The couple sat down with U.S. chat show host Oprah for the tell-all interview, in which Harry alleged his father cut him off financially, said his young family were left without security and claimed the Prince of Wales was "trapped" within the monarchy.

Oprah’s interview aired on CBS in March – just as his grandfather, Prince Philip, was taken into hospital.

Philip later received surgery on his heart and was released after a month-long stay, but sadly died at home with the Queen on April 9.

Harry flew back to the UK to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral and a glimpse of the Duke speaking with his elder brother, Prince William and wife, Kate Middleton, sparked hope of reconciliation.

An insider told the Mirror Harry failed repair his relationship with his dad, despite Harry reportedly writing Charles a "deeply personal note" to try and "set things straight. "

A source said: "Harry didn’t expect everything to be completely back to normal but his feeling after seeing his family was there is a lot of ground to make up.

"Whether that is harder or easier to do on the other side of the world remains to be seen.
