Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should be ‘starved of publicity’ says MP

A Tory MP has become embroiled in the latest Prince Harry and Meghan Markle controversy after attacking the "attention-seeking" royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made several bombshell claims during an interview with chat show host Oprah Winfrey, while Harry has also spoken out on his family during a recent appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast and during his new Apple TV+ series The Me You Can't See.

And now Conservative MP for Romford in London and Royal Family enthusiast Andrew Rosindell has warned the Sussexes should expect a massive backlash from the British public following their string of comments, Daily Express reports.

He also warned the UK public are wise to their "attention-seeking" and said the best way to end the Megxit row is just to completely ignore the couple and "starve" them of platforms to make even more claims.

Mr Rosindell told Express.co.uk: "The British public recognise attention seeking when they see it.

"I hope that the response of the British public will be as it should: to simply ignore Harry and Meghan and starve them of the oxygen they seem to desperately seek."

Last month, the royal enthusiast claimed Harry has effectively been written off by the British public following the bombshell claims he and Meghan Markle made about the Royal Family.

He had described the rift between Harry and his family as one of "great sadness" but warned the UK has "moved on now" and no longer consider him to have any role in the Royal Family.

Mr Rosindell said: "What has happened with Prince Harry is a great sadness to the Queen and Royal Family as a whole.

"It is also very sad for the country that he has chosen the path that he has chosen.

"It was only three years ago when he had that wonderful wedding but then in less than two years have effectively resigned from the Royal Family is a great shame.

"Maybe him coming back for Prince Philip's funeral will have reminded him what he has given up.

"But the country has moved on now – they do think of him as part of the Royal Family, but they don't think of him as having a role anymore."

Harry's new five-part documentary series 'The Me You Can't See', focused on mental health which the prince has co-produced, was released in its entirety last week on Apple TV.

It included large segments of Harry in conversation with Winfrey, as well as footage of a young duke at Princess Diana's funeral.

But Harry accused the Royal Family of treating Meghan with "total neglect" when she felt suicidal and claimed they had felt "bullied into silence".

He said: "I felt completely helpless. I thought my family would help – but every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, just got met with total silence or total neglect."

Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex also appeared to question the parenting of his dad Prince Charles.

Speaking during the Armchair Expert podcast, he said he "break the cycle" of "genetic pain and suffering" for the sake of his own children.

Harry said of his father Charles: "He's treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?"
