Prince Harry 's affection for British culture could be among the reasons he will fancy returning to the UK as early as he can in 2021, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently living in Montecito, California, with their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
They sensationally stepped down as senior royals at the start of the year, but have been unable to return due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A US source told Daily Star that although California is known for its "laid-back style" and the UK and US share similarities, they also differ "culturally."
Brittani Barger, of Royal Central, a US-based website that focuses on the latest royal news from around the world, said she believes Harry "will look forward to returning home" and the "culture he grew up with."
Ms Barger said: "California is known for its laid back style which Meghan is very used to.
"I'm sure Harry misses British life and will look forward to returning home.
"The US and UK are very similar but also very different culturally, so he has to miss the culture he grew up in and want to visit his old friends and his family when it is safe to do so."
She also told the Daily Star the couple’s return to the UK is going to "entirely depend" on the pandemic and the "global situation."
Currently, the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all but essential travel to the US.
British Nationals are also unable to enter the US and its territories if they have been in the UK or Ireland within the last 14 days, meaning Prince Harry wouldn’t be able to immediately return to wife Meghan if he visited alone.

Ms Barger said: "When they return is going to depend entirely on the pandemic and the global situation. It's hard to say when they will return to the UK as we don't know what the pandemic is going to do.
"Hopefully, with the vaccine, the Sussexes will be able to visit the UK at some point in 2021."
Prince Harry and Meghan have previously said they would have already returned to the UK if not for the pandemic.
Speaking with members of the Rugby Football League, Prince Harry said: "We've got a whole Rugby League World Cup coming next year, so I definitely plan on coming back.
"I would have been back already had it not been for Covid."
